Vintage Art Deco Retro Ring Sterling Silver Red Stone Sz 4 3/4 Uncas Manuf

Description

We have a beautiful, classic Art Deco or possibly Retro ring for your consideration. We think it was made between the 1930s to late 1940s.  Hallmark Uncas Manufacturing, a company started in 1911, and still in business today. They had several hallmarks, this one is an arrow through the letter U.
The setting is sterling silver, a simple classic design that sets off the stone beautifully. No filigree to be found, it almost has a signet look to it and could be worn by both men and women. We are unsure about the red stone, as it could be garnet, man-made ruby or glass. Regardless, it's very nice. The ring is in good condition for its age.  There *is* a tiny nick in the stone, and light scratches on the sterling setting.
NOTE
: without a jewelers loupe or careful closeup study, you'd hardly notice these flaws. We'd never seen them until we shot the pix and viewed the photos.
