Fabulous Art Deco Butterscotch Amber Yellow & Black Bakelite Catalin Box

Description

You are looking at a fantastic vintage American Art Deco bakelite catalin box. This box is substantial in many ways. The cylinder is made from one single piece including its bottom. The 8 sided or octagon shape box has a smooth rounded base. The lid is made of 3 parts, a carved cover, a jet black octagon disk and a large cube shape knob. The box sits on 4 black cube feet. The contrasting colors make this box very sharp looking. A part from the black accent parts, the whole box is marbled butterscotch yellow amber color. There is a bit of a green hue. The box measures 4 11/16" in diameter by 4 1/2" tall with lid and knob.
The thickness of the walls varies approx. from 3/16" to 5/16".
In metric, these measurements are 11.8 cm in diameter by 11
.3 cm tall. The thickness of the walls varies approx. from 0.4 to 0.8 cm.
In excellent condition.  No chips or cracks. Guaranteed bakelite and tested.
Weighs 381 gr. (before packing).
