Century Crosby style FIFE manufactured by George Cloos in New York City around 1880.  I think this is rosewood with silver ferrules.  Stamped into the wood are the words “GEO CLOOS” and underneath “CROSBY”.   The Crosby style Fife was designed and introduced in the mid 1800s by Walter Crosby.   It is in very good condition for its age as shown, and measures approximately 17” long.
